My name is Jennifer Taylor I’m 34 years old. A mum of one. Wife. Marketing Manager by day of a shopping mall and wannabe author and ex pageant Queen outwith. In 2018 I entered and won my first pageant and was crowned Mrs Ireland 2018. I have also competed in Galaxy Ireland and Mrs International Curve.
I’ve been involved in pageants for 5 years which began with my companies sponsorship of Miss Earth NI. I have been the contestants mentor, judge, sponsor and trainer for 5 years. I am also the director of Miss Shining Light. A charity pageant in it’s first year with 73 finalists. My platforms are Autism Awareness and the need for faster diagnosis. As my son Zachary who is now 7 was diagnosed as Autistic 3 years ago. A process that took 18 months. Much much too long.
I use my previous Mrs Ireland title to spread awareness for autism and campaign for shorter waiting times for diagnosis. I’ve spoken at conferences. In magazines. On radio and created social media campaigns to promote my passion for Autism Awareness. In addition I have a huge passion for Mental Health Awareness as I myself suffer with anxiety and depression since I was diagnosed with post natal depression 6 years ago.
My main aim in creating Miss Shining Light was to raise awareness and much needed funds for mental health. In my city of Londonderry many many people have taken their lives prematurely and through my creation of my charity Pageant, interviews on radio, social media campaigns, giving talks in schools, taking part in charity fashion shows and events.
I’ve been able to put my own experience to good use and help others. I think I would be a good representative for Ireland Diamond as I am committed, passionate, hard working and dedicated to my causes. My own personal experiences help me give a special insight into these issues. I do what I can to try my best and help even 1 person.
I have projected that with Miss Shining Light, the competition and it’s Finalists will raise in excess of 6 grand for local support group ME4MENTAL. Which will fund the charity for another year and help around 1000 people in need. For me that is more important than any crown or sash or reward.
