I’m a mother of 5 boys and a grandmother to a gorgeous 4 year old. I work as a clinical nurse specialist in oncology looking after breast cancer patients. I decided that I wanted to become a nurse when a road traffic accident, at aged 12, caused me to be in hospital for almost 4 months.
I have been on a real journey of self-development over the last few years. My self esteem had been very low due to many challenges that I had faced in my life.
The work that i undertake within oncology has made me realise that life is short and precious. We should live and enjoy it to the fullest we can possibly achieve.
I ride a Triumph Street Triple R 765cc motorcycle. The time spent riding this is often my mindfulness time as you have to be totally in the moment when riding, not allowing your brain to wander. I have also challenged my fear of heights by doing a skydive.
I try to push myself out of my comfort zone whenever I can. Feeling the fear, counting to 3 and then doing it anyway. You never know if you are going to enjoy doing something unless you’ve tried it.
